Charlotte Michael, CATA©, BPE, Associate Diploma- Kinesiology, CPT© - Over the last six years my educational experiences have included studying at Red Deer College graduating with a diploma in Kinesiology, following that a degree in Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation majoring in sports performance from the University of Alberta, and finally a degree in Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy from Camosun College. I continue to grow and learn each and every day to further my knowledge to help benefit my clients in achieving their fitness or rehabilitation goals.
Experiences gained through my studies were specific to my area of interest and skill set, which was focused on working with teams both in field and in clinic. The skill that I have acquired through working with the Men’s Basketball at RDC and the Bears Football program at the UofA, where both programs allowed me to gain an interest in this area of athletic therapy which allowed me to find the career I am currently in. Furthermore, other program involvement includes Rugby Canada with the men’s national seven’s and fifteen’s programs, BAAA hockey, team Alberta lacrosse and junior lacrosse programs, along with many other volunteer positions at tournaments and events. I am currently the Head Athletic Therapist with the VI Raiders Jr Football team in Nanaimo and am helping with various teams located in the greater Victoria area.
Clinical experiences come from Colligate Sports medicine Clinic in Red Deer, AB, and Back to Back in Colwood, BC. The focus of my skill set was on assessments and the use of modalities and exercise rehabilitation. Through my time management, organization, and client focused work, along with my interpersonal communication skills, my practice is able to help individual clients meet their rehabilitation goals through realistic timeframes. My knowledge gained from being athlete allows me to understand the stresses and pressures felt by an athlete or even a weekend warrior to return to their passion or sport. The years of playing sports and competing have allowed me to develop the drive to help others achieve their goals no matter what they are through hands on exercise or rehabilitation programing designed to meet the individuals specific needs.

Karena Crumpler, Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist - Hello! My name is Karena and I have recently joined the Back to Back team as a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist. I have been out of the workforce for 9 years raising my two boys, Owen & Max.
I graduated from Camosun College with my Criminal Justice Diploma and was keen to work with kids in rehabilitation and restorative justice programs. That was until I had kids and plans changed.
My oldest was born with complex medical needs and I have spent the better part of time trying to find a balance for him and our family. With the medical interventions and therapy required we found we were missing a very important component: the ability to rest & repair. That is when I found Reflexology. It has been a great complementary health module.
I completed my Foot Reflexology course and training with the Reflexology Association of Canada in 2014. I mainly worked on friends and family and volunteered at Jeneece Place giving treatments to parents in need of self-care. I am also on the Reflexology Association of BC’s Board of Directors.
I have recently completed a Multireflexology Course called Dien Chan Fascial Reflexology. It is a unique method using the principals of TCM, Acupuncture, and Reflexology on the face. It has dual benefits for health and beauty!
I look forward to treating you with a foot reflexology session, a therapeutic beauty fascial, fascial reflexology, or a detoxifying cellulite treatment!
Shantelle Kelly, Yoga Instructor - I’ve been working with Back to Back off and on for about 8 years as a receptionist to start and then this lead to me becoming a Chiropractic Assistant. I am also a recent graduate and instructor from Ajna yoga’s 240hr Yoga Teacher Training Program in 2016. I have been practicing yoga on a regular basis for many years and am excited to start teaching and growing more as a yoga teacher. My training involves teaching Hatha, Hatha flow, and restorative yoga but I’m eager to expand my knowledge of yoga by continuing to take workshops. I first started yoga as a gentle way to increase my strength and to help with my stress and anxiety but soon found that yoga provided me with so much more. Yoga has brought a tremendous amount of balance of mind, body, and spirit into my life and most importantly yoga has helped me to find my self-worth and my compassion towards myself and others. Yoga can provide you with many tools, not only to use in your practice but in your everyday life as well. This practice is a journey of self-discovery, and I am forever learning and growing. I'm excited to share this practice with others and to potentially spark your own journey through yoga, and to allow the teachings within yourself to unfold and guide you. Come join me with an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow together.
